ANNUAL MEMORIAL CELEBRATIONS

We hope that you will be able to join us for two yearly celebrations of Hilda’s Life: her birthday in April and a celebration of her Mahasamadhi (day of passing over) in January. Check our calendar and subscribe to receive news updates and links for Zoom events.

The next Birthday celebration is Sunday, April 7, 2024, 2-4:30 pm. We will keep you updated for the next celebration.

S.E.V.A.

Our 2024 Seva Class Calendar will be available later this spring.

The School of Environmental and Vocational Arts (SEVA) is a nonprofit institution located in upstate New York, the educational extension of the Seva Foundation. Hilda was the creative force behind the school, which was organized to demonstrate and teach living harmoniously with the earth and with each other.

In the spirit of its acronym, SEVA, which is a Sanskrit word meaning selfless service, each year we offer classes and workshops that we believe will interest and benefit both the local community and its extended national and international community. It is primarily a weekend school and offers classes from April through November.

Dear Friends of Hilda,
We are excited for you to join to celebrate Hilda Birthday.
Hilda's birthday was April 8 but we will be honoring her, as we have since her passing, on a Sunday when we would normally meet at the Hindu temple in Queens, NY. Unfortunately, the Temple is not doing virtual Pujas (Hindu ceremonies). So we will be giving you a sample of what it felt like to be at the Temple.
When Hilda was with us, she celebrated the Skanda Puja at the Temple each full moon, as she was instructed to by Lord Skanda, son of Shiva, with whom she had a very close relationship and devotion.
Join us to learn about this amazing tradition and the wonders that Hilda graced us with.
